Ladies and gentleman let’s rock & roll

MTV is the lava lamp of the 1980’s… the musical channel phenomenon has been exported successfully all over the world-Doug Ferrari[1]

Access to music videos 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, that what MTV’s purpose. MTV music television was born the 1st August 1981 under the slogan “ladies and gentleman let’s rock &roll”. The first video they played was video killed the radio star from The Buggles.

Since that day MTV has not stopped growing as firm. It comunicates with the public through Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Official website, Tumblr and other secondary pages.  The book The everyday Internet all-in-one desk reference for dummies[2] sais that almost a 95 percent of all blogs are abandoned, but this is not the case of MTV.  They know who their public are and update all the online sites at least more than once a day so it keeps readers interested and aware of everything that happens in relation to MTV. As Tabitha Soren said

MTV have a specific, defined audience-at MTV, they assume the audience to the news is 15 to 30 years old and they do a lot of research about the things they’re interested in.[3]

This tv’s links keep growing each day, as new technologies grow. It uses the latest technological tips and link to persuade the public. For example, the 28th August 2011 the day the MTV Video Music Awards were released Beyonce announced her pregnancy and in Twitter 8.868 tweets were published per second.

Besides MTV launches in different countries and every country has its own MTV real web translated into their official language. That is a very useful strategy if we take into account that like that they will have followers all over the world. MTV’s pages fulfil the tips to use them to help on the business but specially, it fulfils the one about creating links to the own Web site or blog, here is an example from Twitter,

This is an abstract of my WCPlan and the conclusion aboout how MTV benefits from its tools is that they follow the rules needed to grow the business because especially they know their public and they know how to persuade it.
