Guernica (cuadro)

La historia del cuadro de Guernica es una historia muy compleja de explicar. En mi referencia elegida que se trata de la Página web Historiadelarte.us, se explica muy buen la historia de esta obra. Yo en este post, sin embargo, mediante dos apartados, explicaré la información más básica: su relación con la villa, que hizo que Picasso creara ese mural ; por el otro lado, la repercusión social que tuvo.

Elecciones y Twitter

Las pasadas elecciones que se vivieron el día 20 de noviembre en España, pasarán a la historia por ser las elecciones con mayor seguimiento en las redes sociales, especialmente en twitter. Pero este hecho no es aislado ya que,  en Estados Unidos, ya tuvo una gran repercusión el uso de esta red. El autor Aaron Smith, ya destacó que el uso de redes sociales habia crecido de manera importante y diversa, al igual que la actividad política en ellas. Además, añadió que:

Estas plataformas son utilizadas por individuos políticamente activos de todas las edades e ideologías para obtener noticias, comunicarse con los demás, y ofrecer sus opiniones sobre los temas que son importantes para ellos.

Risks of digital identity in social networks

 Digital identity is the aspect of digital technology that is concerned with the mediation of people’s experience of their own identity and the identity of other people and things. Digital identity also has another common usage as the digital representation of a “set of claims made by one digital subject about itself or another digital subject” (Kim Cameron). Summarizing, it is all our footprints on internet. However, nowadays it is becoming very difficult to control our Digital Identity because of social networks. In spite of being  socializing tools, they are becoming important focus of danger.

According to Jerri Ledford there are five areas we should be especially cautious about when we are creating our digital identity:

What was “Colonialism”?

After decades of colonial presence, the effects of colonization have not disappear and its footprint is maintained until present. The economic situation is bad and political structures are unstable. Robin D. G. Kelley put it this way:

The fact is, while colonialism in its formal sense might have been dismantled, the colonial state has not. Many of the problems of democracy are products of the old colonial state whose primary difference is the presence of black faces. [...]The official apparatus might have been removed, but the political, economic, and cultural links established by colonial domination still remain with some alterations.
